After ordering, we will schedule a visit by two Smart-Forecast consultants. They will come for two or three days and need three to four interviews; one with an employee preparing a local forecast, one with the employee who is consolidating and handling the various forecasts from the subsidiaries, one with the manager overseeing the forecasting operation, and, if applicable, one with the person collecting the input for the turnover forecasts and the KPIs it is based on.
Moreover, our consultants will need the latest forecasting templates in their final version for review; these will generally be from the prior year. We also need and an analysis of past performance of the forecasting operation versus actuals and if possible versus prior forecasts, for the last three years at least, ideally with comments.
Data gathering takes place in two seasons, a spring and a fall season. The spring season ends in May, and the fall season in November. In June and December, all clients are ranked. Certifications are awarded to all clients until the end of the month. If necessary, the scoring model will be updated internally by our team.
Our information privacy guidelines are similar to those of public auditors, lawyers and tax accountants. We will only review your models at your own business premises, and keep private any information gathered during the certification process. Before taking any assignment, the consultants in charge of performing the certification must comply with our strong independence rules. They are not allowed to own any stake or have a business interest with the client or any of its affiliates.
